From 2011 to 2021 London’s population will grow by a million - the fastest rate of acceleration ever. We are going to hit nine million before New York, and approach ten million by 2030. With these demographic projections, we will have at least another 641,000 jobs, another 800,000 homes, and more than 600,000 extra passengers will need to travel by public transport at peak times by 2031. 1.      مقدمه ای بر آبادی ادراک

1.1 شهر هوشمند چیست؟

تکثر از شهرهای ارجمند جهان از جمله سئول، نیویورک ، توکیو، شانگهای، سنگاپور، آمستردام، قاهره، دبی، کوچی و مالاگا برنامه های شهر باهوش خود را آغاز کرده اند. گرچه ممکن است شهرهای هوشمند هنوز هم شهرهای آینده فرض شوند،
اما با توجه به سمت جرم نوآوری های امروزین احتمالا مدل های شهر باهوش برای دهه آینده شدنی شده و از جمله استراتژی های محبوب از بهر بسط شهرها به حساب آیند.

آبادی هوشمند عبارت است شهر "دانش "،" دیجیتال "، " سایبری " و " اقتصاد"؛ مفهومی باز برای انواع تفسیرها و برداشت های ذهنی و وابسته به اهداف تعیین شده از سوی برنامه ریزان شهر هوشمند. امروزه ممکن است برداشت ضمیر اول شخص جمع از شهر هوشمند، شهرهای توسعه یافته در دو حوزه عملکرد و ساختار باشد که از اطلاعات و فناوری ارتباطات (ICT)  به سمت آغاز زیرساخت بهره برده اند.

خود از رشد آینده لندن قاطعانه پدافند می کنم. لندن یکی از پدیدآوری کنندگان توانمند آژانس ها، مشاغل و پول گذاریهای باطنی جدید است ولی واقعیت اینست که ما باید فکر کنیم این پایتخت بزرگ باده تواند از آن پشتیبانی کند.

"ما باید استیلا فنی لندن را مهار کنیم تا این پاتخت به عنوان یک شهر هم عملکرد بهتری داشته باشد، از رویش آن حمایت کند و استعانت کند که زیرساختها و خدمات ما برای شهروندان لندن و نیازهای تجاری، احساساتی تر باشد. ما نیاز داریم محققان و کارآفرینان برتر لندن، رویکردهای جدیدی برای چالشهای رشد این پایتخت ابداع کنند. و همانطور که این برنامه نشان می دهد، آنها از پیش ید به کار شده اند و شهرداری از جهات زیادی در این مسیر حرکت می کند.
